A History of Excellence
At Paperspring, our experience in printing extends almost 40 years. Our parent company, Charlie Chan Printing, has been providing high-end commercial printing services to Fortune 100 companies since 1969.
As a result, we know what it takes to get a client’s job done perfectly and on-time.
Technology In addition, we have all the latest equipment to make your greeting cards, announcements, invitations, and stationery or comp cards print out at the highest level of quality. In 2007, we acquired the press consistently ranked as the highest-end digital press on the market, the HP Indigo 5500. This half-million dollar investment was followed by the purchase of a high-speed UV coater and barcode-automated slitter in 2008 to enable us to provide our clients with the best greeting cards, announcements, invitations, and stationery on the market.
Paper Stock and Finishing Your greeting cards, announcements, invitations, and stationery will be printed on thick 110 lb cover stock. Paperspring is an extremely environmentally-conscious company, so we use the highest grade recycled content papers for your order. Post-consumer content percentages vary based on your item and is stated in the item description.
To protect your products, we shrinkwrap each order and carefully inspect and package your prints with bubblewrap. (Our boss’ 3-year-old daughter can’t get enough of that stuff!)
Pre-Press Touchup and Quality Control While our web-based ordering system and production system is highly automated, we strongly believe in the necessary human touch with each and every order.
When you submit your order for printing, we will check each image before proceeding to production, in order to verify that contrast, brightness and color are all optimized to give your greeting cards, announcements, invitations, and stationery the best look possible.
Furthermore, behind the scenes, a project manager will be assigned to make sure your job is printed correctly and on time.
Environmental Sustainability At Paperspring, we take environmental sustainability seriously. Our new digital press dramatically decreases the environmental impact of printing by virtually eliminating paper waste. In traditional production environments, running 100 greeting cards, announcements, invitations, and stationery off an offset press might result in over 500 wasted sheets of paper. That’s a lot of paper! And that is why many of our competitors offer 300 or 500 greeting cards, announcements, invitations, and stationery at only a small increase over the price for 100. With our digital press, it is not uncommon to print only 52 sheets of paper 2-up to get the final count of 104 greeting cards, announcements, invitations, and other folded cards. This has a huge effect on decreasing the amount of paper consumed to get the printing that you need.
In addition to this, our production environment is highly optimized to be green. We use soy-based inks on most of our presses, we have an additional waterless and chemistry-free self-plating press, we do not use film in our production environment, and we recycle everything possible, including plate material, paper and boxes.
We hope you’re impressed with the extent to which we’ve built up our production environment to suit your personal print product needs. Please feel free to e-mail us or call us should you have any production questions not answered by the descriptions above!
Warm wishes,
The Paperspring Team
